Barrie have shared their debut single in the shape of 'Canyons'. The New York-based five piece - Barrie, Dom, Noah, Sabine and Spurge - are announcing themselves by blending woozy synthscapes with funk-tinged bass lines and beautifully hushed vocals to entice fans of the likes of Shura, Yumi Zouma and TOPS. Explaining the songwriting process, Barrie explains, "Every revision until the end was like a swipe of sandpaper, stripping it down and roughing up the sweetness." While there is a hint of roughness to proceedings, 'Canyons' really is a sweet introduction to the infectious dream-pop world of Barrie. -G.O'B
